Counterparts Release New Live Album “Live In Toronto”, Reveal Live Videos

Ontario-based metalcore heavyweights, Counterparts, are back with the release of their new live album, "Live In Toronto", out today via Pure Noise Records.

The band released the colossal "A Eulogy For Those Still Here" in 2022 (drawing praise from the likes of Stereogum, Revolver Magazine, BrooklynVegan, Exclaim, and more), and have been touring nearly nonstop ever since. Now Live In Toronto captures Counterparts at the peak of their powers in that live element. "We hit record and played a show," laughs vocalist Brendan Murphy. "When we did this, it was our biggest headline show to date and that combined with the fact that it was so close to home, we wanted to document it in a cool way. Kyle killed the mix too. Probably the best we’ve ever sounded.”

In addition to the Live In Toronto album, the band have also shared a live video of three of its songs: A Eulogy For Those Still Here highlights "Whispers of Your Death," "Bound To The Burn," and "A Mass Grave of Saints."

Since forming in 2007, Counterparts–made up of Murphy, guitarist Jesse Doreen, bassist Tyler Williams, and drummer Kyle Brownlee–have gone from underdogs to a globetrotting powerhouse in the world of aggressive music. A Eulogy For Those Still Here drew on everything Counterparts have been honing for the past 15 years, creating a mix of crushing heaviness and stark atmospherics and resulting in the group's most assured and definitive musical statement to date.
