There was probably only one question that every real punk, hard & metalcore fan has been thinking about since the turn of the year: Who will be on stage as the headliner on Saturday at Jera On Air?
Well, the best kept secret of Ysselsteyn and the surrounding area is finally revealed:
None other than metalcore sensation ARCHITECTS will headline Saturday night. On the third day of the festival, FRANK CARTER & THE RATTLESNAKES will also return to the largest alternative festival in the Benelux countries, which will once again shine with a top-class, varied line-up for its 30th anniversary.
Visitors to Jera on Air, which will take place on June 27th, 28th and 29th, 2024, could already look forward to confirmed acts such as Electric Callboy, Dropkick Murphys, Bad Religion, Sum 41, While She Sleeps and many more.
The line-up has expanded to include 13 bands. In addition to Architects and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, there are: For I Am King, HANABIE, Of Mice & Men, The Black Dahlia Murder, King Prawn, Spanish Love Songs, Imminence, Movements, Makewar, Brutus and Annisokay.
Architects
The news that Architects -unhappy with their place on the festival poster- will not be coming to North Limburg in 2019 caused quite a stir. The fact that they will still be one of the festival's headliners at the upcoming edition is the ultimate confirmation that everyone is on the same page. A band like Architects, perhaps the greatest metalcore band of all time, simply belongs on Jera On Air. Tonight the English guys completely demolish the sold-out AFAS Live. Something they will undoubtedly repeat on Jera On Air on Saturday June 29th.
With albums like 'Lost Forever/Lost Together', 'All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us' and 'Holy Hell', the band established themselves as a fixture in the metalcore sector. But things didn't always go the way they wanted. In 2016, guitarist Tom Searle died of cancer, marking the band's unprecedented low point. It weighed heavily on the four remaining band members. They describe their latest album, 'The classic symptoms of a broken spirit', as the first real escape from the grief that followed Tom's death.
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes
Frank Cater & The Rattlesnakes will also be on stage on Saturday. As one of the most charismatic frontmen in the punk rock community, Frank Carter has been known as a performance god for years. Together with 'his' Rattlesnakes he brings one hit after the next to the stage. Today he releases his latest work, 'Dark Rainbow'. That, along with all the hits of the last few years, is a good omen for his show at Jera On Air. This of course also applies to For I Am King's set. The Dutch metal pride is releasing a new album this year with 'Crown'. It's undoubtedly full of catchy riffs, driven by frontwoman Alma Alizadeh's unique vocals.
HANABIE and more, much more!
There is no shortage of enthusiastic women at HANABIE either. Quite the opposite. The four-woman band from Tokyo combines the best of Japanese pop with metalcore and electronica. The result is difficult to put into words. At a HANABIE show. We will lack nothing, except perhaps the senses to absorb everything this band has to offer in terms of stylistic diversity.
We are also pleased that the fabulous Of Mice & Men, The Black Dahlia Murder, King Prawn, Spanish Love Songs and Imminence will be appearing at Jera On Air 2024. The performances of audience favorites like Movements, Makewar, Brutus and Annisokay promise to be no less great.
