Evanescence have announced the release of a special edition of heir critically acclaimed album, "Fallen", which turns 20 this year. The remastered and expanded album features the hits "My Immortal," "Everybody's Fool," "Going Under" and the GRAMMY®-winning "Bring Me To Life," plus bonus material - including B-sides, previously unreleased demos and live recordings !

In 2003, when the rock charts were dominated by predominantly male nü-metal and post-grunge acts, a young, female-fronted band from Arkansas stood out from the crowd and offered something completely new. It was Evanescence - and with their debut album Fallen they changed the rock landscape. With their cinematic blend of metal and symphonic, piano-driven melodies, Evanescence, led by frontwoman Amy Lee, conquered a generation, while Fallen launched the band on the path to global superstardom, earning them multiple GRAMMYS® and becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time .
Now, two decades later, Concord, in collaboration with Craft Recordings, celebrates Evanescence's enduring debut with a series of collector-quality re-releases. Fallen (20th Anniversary Edition) is available on 2-LP, 2-CD and digital formats - as well as a Super Deluxe Edition for collectors - and features remastered sound, including the singles "My Immortal", "Going Under", "Everybody's Fool" and the GRAMMY®-winning hit "Bring Me To Life", which are topping the charts worldwide. The extended set also includes a wealth of bonus material - ten tracks in total - including previously unreleased demos and live recordings, as well as a selection of rare B-sides. In addition to the redesigned artwork, all physical formats include previously unpublished photos from the period as well as a handwritten foreword by Lee, who oversaw all aspects of the re-release.
The album Fallen, released in spring 2003, was very well received by fans, sold more than 43,000 copies in the first week and reached number 2 in the German album charts; the album stayed in the charts for an astonishing 73 weeks. To date, “Fallen” has sold over 800,000 copies in Germany and continues to demonstrate its brilliance and topicality, most recently driven by TikTok, which has once again brought the singles “Bring Me To Life” & “My Immortal” into focus.
At the 2004 GRAMMYS®, Evanescence received five nominations, including Album of the Year, Best Rock Album, Best Hard Rock Performance for "Bring Me to Life" and Best New Artist, taking home the latter two awards The following year, "My Immortal" was nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Vocal Duo or Group.
Today, "Fallen" is the sixth best-selling album of the 21st century (just behind Lady Gaga's "The Fame" and ahead of Coldplay's "A Rush of Blood to the Head") and remains one of the best-selling albums of all time, with more than 17 million copies sold worldwide . In 2022, Fallen received the rare Diamond certification from the RIAA, recognizing the album's 10 million copies sold in the United States. Proof of the album's enduring appeal is the video for "Bring Me To Life", which became one of the most viewed rock videos of all time with over 1.2 billion views on YouTube, closely followed by "My Immortal".
The 20th Anniversary Edition of Fallen builds on the original album and adds additional context with rare B-sides ("Breathe No More," "Farther Away" and "Missing") and six previously unreleased cuts. These include live renditions of "Bring Me To Life" (including a 2020 acoustic reinterpretation) as well as "My Immortal" and "Going Under", while fans can enjoy a newly discovered string version of "My Immortal" and a demo of "Bring Me To Life" from 2002 can enjoy.
“20 years later, this album has never meant more,” Lee writes in her foreword. To date, Evanescence has released a total of five studio albums, including the multiplatinum albums The Open Door (2004) and Evanescence (2011), both of which topped the Billboard 200. In 2021, the band delighted fans with their first new album in a decade, The Bitter Truth. Evanescence is still actively touring with Amy Lee (vocals, keyboards), Tim McCord (guitar/bass), Will Hunt (drums), Troy McLawhorn (guitar/backing vocals) and Emma Anzai (bass, backing vocals), which takes the band around the globe and is one of the most successful of their career.
