Leprous and Khemmis announced for Damnation Festival 2023

US doom standouts Khemmis will make their long-awaited UK debut at Damnation. It will mark the band's only overseas show of 2023.

The band said: "We are thrilled to join the incredible lineup at Damnation. This is our only overseas date for 2023, so let’s make it a rager!”

Damnation organiser Gavin McInally added: "In a crowded live scene we've really doubled down this year to make sure our line-up offers fans something fresh and exciting and the booking of Khemmis, not only making their UK debut, but playing their only show outside North America, is a special one. They'll join the likes of Dead Guy Killing, , High Command , and Julie Christmas as a solo artist in being introduced live to the UK, across our stages this year. We cannot wait."

The latest addition to the 2023 lineup is non other than Leprous. Norwegian progressive metallers will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their iconic album, "Coal", with a UK exclusive performance at Damnation's Night of Salvation event.

The band joins Enslaved, who'll perform "Below the Lights", Akercocke playing "Choronzon" and Sigh revisiting "Scorn Defeat", in a series of historic anniversary sets at BEC Arena, Manchester, on Friday, November 3.

The band said: “Coal was the album where Leprous started finding our own sound. We started experimenting more with a more minimalistic and melancholic approach. We can’t wait to celebrate Coal and play the whole album for you!”

Organiser Gavin McInally said: "We feel very lucky to be in a position to attract these one-off sets to the UK, instead of seeing them on line-up posters across America and mainland Europe. Chapter One, Matriarch, Fixation On a Co-Worker, Audio Noir, Scorn Defeat, Choronzon, Below The Lights and Coal, alongside an array of some of the best emerging UK talent on the Church Road Records Stage, is an unbelievable spread of metal. It's safe to say that this year's Night of Salvation blows away some of our previous Damnation line-ups and there's still more to come over two days. Grab your combo ticket now and look forward to a very special weekend this November."

Ten more bands will be announced soon. Which set are you looking forward to the most?
