Indie punks HIPPIE TRIM present an energetic music video for the track "Reef Blower":

“We originally planned to film the whole set. However, several technical glitches and adverse circumstances ensured that it ended up being just a music video. 'Reef Blower' captures the roaring and exuberant atmosphere of the evening, which is why we can finally look back happily on this little piece of memory," comments singer Malte Unnasch.

The recordings come from a sold-out show at Cologne's Sonic Ballroom, where the band celebrated the release of their second studio album What Consumes Me last year, which was released digitally on limited vinyl via Supervillain. While the long-player was being produced in Frankfurt, the band worked for the first time with the Americans Jon Markson (DRUG CHURCH, SUCH GOLD, CAN'T SWIM) and Adam Cichocki (FREE THROW, GATHERERS, LIKE PACIFIC) for mixing and mastering.

HIPPIE TRIM started 2019 on the scene with a bang: with only one released single to date, the quintet sold out their first show weeks in advance, followed immediately by accompanying the US post-punks DRUG CHURCH on their Germany dates, got hold of several well-known playlist placements and presented in November of the same year with "Cult" a debut album that proved that heaviness and melody by no means have to be mutually exclusive. With playful riffs, which are alternately accompanied by brute but also dreamy vocals, the formation from the Rhine-Ruhr area convinces music critics, who predict a rosy future for the band and the style mix of hardcore, punk, dream pop, emo and grunge as a uniquely identify in the local sound landscape. After the compulsory Corona break, HIPPIE TRIM reported back in 2022, were praised by international media such as BrooklynVegan and Flood Magazine, opened shows for SWAIN, FIDDLEHEAD and TURNSTILE and further expanded their sound world as part of their second work "What Consumes Me".
