Akercocke will perform blackened death metal masterpiece "Choronzon" in full at Damnation's A Night of Salvation event.

The headline set, on the Cult Never Dies Stage, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album, and will be hosted at BEC Arena, Manchester, on Friday 3.

"Choronzon" is the second of 15 sets to be announced, following the return of Viking Skull, who'll mark the 20th anniversary of their hard rock stomper, "Chapter One".

Organiser Gavin McInally said: "Akercocke's Goat of Mendes set was a genuine 'I was there' moment and since then we've had 2023 circled as the chance to go one better and land the live airing of what many consider their finest hour, "Choronzon".

"We'd argue that the "Chapter One" and "Choronzon" sets are already worth the price of admission, but fortunately we don't have to as there's another 13 bands to come, and then Damnation itself which will be stacked top to bottom with UK exclusive performances."
