La Dispute hail from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her album Wildlife is about this area. It was published eleven years ago and tells the story of a city in transition, the people who populate it and the tragedies that befall them and others every day. Told through short stories and diary entries by a young man sitting alone in a room, the record documents an individual's search for meaning.
It's an album for hard times, rough landscapes and for the here and now. With a sonic image that matches the rawness and emotionality of these themes, La Dispute have sort of returned to where they started many years ago: writing and performing songs that explore the question of what it means to be human, hurt and ultimately survive - in cities like Grand Rapids and around the world.
This will be the first time since summer 2019 that La Dispute will be performing in Europe again. That same year, the band released their acclaimed Epitaph debut, Panorama, which was created in collaboration with acclaimed producer Will Yip (Quicksand, Braid, Code Orange, Nothing, Title Fight) and features 10+ tracks of jazz, rock, slowcore, noise , hardcore and other influences combined.
The first two singles, "ROSE QUARTZ / FULTON STREET 1" and "FOOTSTEPS AT THE POND," gave fans their first glimpse of the band's most personal project since their breakthrough Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair.
