To continue their meteoric rise, Architects today announce a brand new studio album entitled The Classic Symptoms Of A Broken Spirit, due out October 21st via Epitaph. They also unveil a new track entitled "tear gas", the second single off the new album. The first was the anthemic "When We Were Young," which wowed fans and has been streamed over 6.5 times to date by the band's 1.6 million monthly Spotify subscribers.
'The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit' will be the band's 10th studio album and follows up on last year's critically acclaimed UK number 1 album 'For Those That Wish To Exist'. The band barely had time to celebrate the success when they began writing the songs that make up the new album. Produced by Dan Searle and Josh Middleton, with additional production by Sam Carter at Deacon's Middle Farm Studios and their own HQ, Electric Studios in Brighton. The band were happy to finally be in a room together again after recording their latest album mostly remotely due to COVID restrictions. The overall result is "freer, more playful and more spontaneous," explains drummer and songwriter Dan.
The album is a real burst of energy with electronic and industrial sounding moments setting the cinematic mood of the 11 track album. There's more than a little nod to the band's post-rock influences, but also familiar anthems like "When We Were Young" and new single "Tear Gas" that make the fists fly. "Anything is possible - wake up the unstoppable."
These big announcements follow recent news that the band will be special guests on Biffy Clyro's UK & Ireland Arena Tour in November. The tour kicks off at Leeds' First Direct Arena on November 5th and includes a concert at London's O2 Arena on November 12th.
