With hardcore newcomers Hippie Trim announcing their debut album "Cult" for November 29 via Redfield Records (pre-orders are available here), the band is presenting another taste with "Jersey Girls Do not Pump Gas".
Bassist Lukas Andrzejewski comments:
"'Jersey Girls Do not Pump Gas' is a reckoning with fake friends and old loves. The song is probably our favorite single, as it best reflects our style with a pinch of melancholy, dreaminess and harshness. At that time, I still wrote the text under pressure of time during our recording in the studio. The melody has been standing for a long time. Now it was about completing them with the right words. A few hours later, the song was in the box."
The band has previously released the tracks "Join The Cult", "Supersonic" and "Blasphemy" (which also features Patrick Kindlon of Drug Church and Self Defense Family fame).
Hippie Trim, based in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan area, appeared for the first time in May with their first single. A month later, the quintet completed the first live show, which was already sold out in advance. In July they accompanied Drug Church on their Germany dates.
The young band does not stick to genre-typical boundaries and forms a stable, musical substructure out of hardcore and (pop) punk, to which elements from the dream pop and shoegaze join.
