On September 15th I caught the American horror metalcore giants Ice Nine Kills on their “The American Nightmare Tour” at Lido Berlin. They brought support from the Swedish band Awake The Dreamer who released their debut album, “Damaged Souls”, only a couple days after the show.
The Swedes did an amazing job at getting the crowd in the concert mode, with catchy choruses with screams that were made for moshing. I really liked their performance.
During the change over there was spooky music playing until Ice Nine Kills stormed the stage. Everyone was dressed in some costume inspired by a horror movie which was super sick. I knew that this is their vibe but since I’ve never seen them live before, I didn’t know that they dress up for their gigs as well. I really loved their energy. Vocalist Spencer Charnas has amazing vocal abilities and so does their guitarist, Ricky Armellino. I was super impressed with that. They definitely know how to put on a good show. I’ll make sure to catch them again when they come back to Europe!
