Motionless In White are
off to an excellent start this year promoting their latest album ‘The Graveyard
Shift’. After previously touring in Europe, the band is back at it again in the
states. The Graveyard Shift Tour made an appearance at the Starland Ballroom,
NJ on 3/3/18.
Like Moths to Flames kicked off the night and
opened up with "New Plagues", "You Won’t Be Missed" and "I Solemnly Swear". The
band’s set was a great way to start the night. Without hesitation, the pit
opened up during when Like Moths To Flames played "GNF" with the crowd surfers
jumping in on the fun as well. The band closed their set with "Dark Divine" and
‘Bury Your Pain’.
Ice Nine Kills was up
next to bring the heat. The band played songs off their latest album
“Every Trick In The Book”. They hit the stage with "Communion of The
Cursed", "Blood Bath and Beyond" and "The Plot Sickens". During "Hell In The Hallways", vocalist Spencer Charnas jumped into the crowd
creating a scene of fury. Ice Nine Kills closed out with "Enjoy Your Slay" and "Me, Myself, and Hyde".
Every Time I
Die hit the stage next. The moment vocalist Keith Buckley ran on stage, the
crowd went wild. The band opened up with "Decayin’ With The Boys", "We’rewolf" and "The Coin Has a Say", putτινγ on an incredible performance
with high energy. During "Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space", Keith
Buckley leaped into the crowd of screaming fans. The band then ended their set
with "Bored Stiff", "Map Change" and "Fear and Trembling".
Finally, the band that
we were all anxiously waiting for.. Motionless In White! From the moment the
band walked on stage, I knew that this show was about to be insane. They opened up with "Rats", "Reincarnate", "Necessary Evil" and "Soft". Although the setlist promoted their latest album, “The Graveyard Shift”, the band made sure to play tracks for all of the old school die heart fans by including "Sick From The Melt" and "Abigail" which, to the fans surprise, featured a guest appearance from Spencer Charnas of
Ice Nine Kills. Motionless In White gave the fans a special treat with flag waving performers
entering the stage to toss candy into the crowd. The continuous music, entertainment and now
sugar rush just built the momentum for a great night for the screaming
fans. As the night continued, the band
played "A-M-E-R-I-C-A", "Death March", "Voices" and "Dead As Fuck". Motionless
In White closed out their set with old school favorites; "Immaculate
Misconception" followed by "Devils Night". After the encore, there was one more
surprise for the evening. As "Eternally Yours" played, snow began to fall from
the ceiling. It was a last moment of the
crowd coming together with raised hands in an effort to catch a bit of snow as
a token for the evening.
The Graveyard Shift Tour
was one to remember. Like Moths To Flames, Ice Nine Kills, Every Time I Die and
Motionless In White did a phenomenal job with production. It was also a special
tour due to the fact that Motionless In White allowed the fans to pick their
setlist in each city. The fans and I had a great time and everyone left the
venue feeling like they had an awesome night shared with friends.
